Overview

With a vision to "Build and sell Microsoft AI, Cloud applications, services, and devices with partners, empowering people and organizations to achieve more," Windows and Device Sales (WDS) is responsible for driving revenue outcomes with partners through innovative solutions at scale. As part of WDS, Device Partner Sales (DPS) plays a critical role in achieving this mission. We build, market and sell breakthrough AI-powered devices and cloud experiences with partners, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), device distribution and reseller channels, Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and Silicon providers. We work closely across the device partner ecosystem and internal teams to transform the world of computing.

Opportunities in DPS are expansive. We span the entire product lifecycle from incubation, prototyping, and portfolio planning to the device design, and selling them through the Retail, Distribution and Reseller channel, sell-through to their consumer and commercial customers. As a member of our team, you will be part of growing a multi-billion-dollar business, charting new areas of innovation, and contributing to our partnership engagements worldwide. You will play a pivotal role in driving the sales and growth of Windows devices and AI services in partnership with the strength of our device partner ecosystem.

As the Partner Development Manager - OEM, supporting Lenovo, you will drive intelligent edge and cloud solutions sales with partners, helping solve customer challenges with AI infused services. Leading a top-notch partner management process, the role will nurture deep partner executive relationships and build trust, showcasing an understanding of their business and Microsoft's value. Establishing executive sponsorships for joint aspirational goals and orchestrating quarterly business reviews will ensure execution excellence and alignment. You will be responsible for managing partner relationships, partner account management, business transformation model, and operational execution.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 5+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years experience in the computing and device market, including experience with key distribution and supply chain channels.

Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Science, or an advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or a related field AND 8+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years experience in global sales and marketing, with experience working with complex partners.
  • Led decision-making for multi-million-dollar discretionary investments with measurable business impact.
  • Successfully negotiated complex contracts with diverse partner organizations.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence virtual sales teams across regions.
  • Experienced in strategic planning and executing complex regional initiatives.

Partner Development Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $107,600 - $187,500 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,600 - $205,600 per year.

Partner Relationship Management

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with partners by deeply understanding their strategies and business imperatives.
  • Leverage knowledge of Microsoft strategies to identify new growth opportunities and manage end-to-end partner relationships.
  • Utilize account management processes and marketing investments to drive regional execution.

Internal Advocacy and Executive Engagement

  • Advocate for partners within Microsoft by connecting them with executives and facilitating product roadmap reviews.
  • Support opportunity pipeline development and monitor partner satisfaction to evaluate relationship health.

Strategic Growth and Sales Execution

  • Drive business growth by creating a global strategic vision for partnerships.
  • Transform partner go-to-market strategies with intelligent edge devices and services.
  • Achieve Device Partner Sales KPIs (key performance indicators) through focused execution and strategic alignment.

Sales Enablement and Compliance

  • Champion Microsoft as a valued business partner and activate new sales capabilities.
  • Uphold compliance and ethical sales practices in all engagements.

Insight-Driven Partner Impact

  • Understand partner and customer needs through direct engagement, in-depth discussions, and data analysis.
  • Align programs to accelerate partner pipeline velocity and resolve friction points.
  • Continuously adapt partner strategies based on feedback and evolving market dynamics.
