Overview

This strategic and operational leadership role sits at the core of Microsoft’s Surface business in Japan. The Senior Operations GTM Manager is responsible for driving lifecycle strategy, promotional execution, demand planning, and inventory health across the Surface portfolio. As a key operational leader, the role ensures Surface Japan delivers against commercial goals through disciplined planning, cross-functional orchestration, and business performance management.

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years in GTM operations, category management, or supply chain roles, ideally within tech or hardware.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional execution and influence regional and global stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with deep experience in demand forecasting and promo strategy.
  • Familiarity with the Surface portfolio and forecasting tools preferred.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead GTM Operations & Business Rhythm
    Own Surface GTM operations for Japan, aligning lifecycle strategy, promotional execution, and supply planning with business priorities. Ensure operational plans are embedded in quarterly reviews and rhythm-of-business cadences.
  • Promotions & Commercial Performance
    Deliver promotional execution with a focus on commercial impact, ROI accountability, and continuous optimisation. Collaborate with finance and analytics teams to assess effectiveness and inform future investment decisions.
  • Lifecycle & Launch Readiness
    Shape and manage lifecycle transitions for Surface products, including sell-in/sell-through timelines, end-of-life planning, and partner communications. Lead operational readiness for new product launches, ensuring enablement is synchronised across systems, partners, and internal teams. Provide portfolio performance insights to influence assortment, investment, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Demand Planning & Forecasting
    Drive demand planning excellence by leading the forecast rhythm across sales, marketing, and supply chain. Use predictive insights to inform scenario planning, mitigate risk, and ensure agility in execution.
  • Regional Engagement & Governance
    Represent Japan in regional forums, ensuring local needs are reflected in global planning and execution. Contribute to Asia-wide alignment on demand shaping, supply visibility, and operational governance.
