Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, Animation, or related field AND 5+ years experience in motion design for digital products or video storytelling
- Master’s Degree in above fields AND 4+ years experience in motion design
- Equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated expertise in motion design for UX and video, using design thinking to solve problems)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant field AND 8+ years experience in motion design for products or services
- Equivalent experience with a strong portfolio of shipped products, services, or video content
- 4+ years experience delivering end-to-end motion design solutions for customers
- Proficiency in After Effects, Cinema4D, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and animation frameworks (e.g., Lottie, Babylon.js)
- Experience mentoring designers and collaborating in cross-functional teams
Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Define and implement motion design systems for product UX and video storytelling.
- Create animated assets, transitions, and micro-interactions that enhance user engagement and clarity.
- Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and researchers to prototype and deliver motion specs.
- Develop and maintain motion guidelines as part of the design system.
- Produce storyboards, video flows, and vision demos for product launches and marketing.
- Mentor team members on motion design best practices and tools (e.g., After Effects, Cinema4D, Figma).
- Partner with internal and external teams to research and analyze user feedback for continuous improvement.
