We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior software engineer with deep expertise in C++, networking, and audio systems to join the PlayFab Party team. It is a cloud-powered cross-platform communications service and SDKs enabling data messaging, voice and text chat for multiplayer games across Windows, Linux, mobile, and console platforms.
You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining core components of our real-time communications stack, including audio encoding/decoding, data exchange, network protocol handling, and moderation enablement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++ OR equivalent experience.
- Experience in multithreaded programming, synchronization patterns and audio encoding/decoding technologies.
- Familiarity with communication protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, sockets, WebSocketPP, HTTP, WebSockets.
- Experience developing on Windows and Linux-based platforms, including Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code and Cmake.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with Android, iOS and macOS development.
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and YAML.
- Background in Live Site support and cloud service maintenance.
- Familiarity with Unity and Unreal Engine.
- Familiarity with Git and modern standards of teamwork (code reviews, pull requests, build automations)
- Familiarity with communication troubleshooting tools like Fiddler and Wireshark

Responsibilities
Debug and optimize multithreaded C++ applications across Windows and Linux-based platforms. Develop and maintain network protocol layers using TCP/IP, UDP, sockets, WebSocketPP, HTTP, and WebSockets.
Integrate and troubleshoot audio encoding/decoding code flows.
Support Live Site operations, cloud service and Azure DevOps automation pipelines
Collaborate with partner teams on moderation enablement and SDK integration.
Work on Unity and Unreal integrations.
Design and implement scalable, high-performance systems for data messaging, voice and text chat.
