We are looking to hire a Senior Security Program Manager -Special Events and Special Asset Security to join our Global Security team. In this role the candidate shall be responsible for managing a diversified portfolio of services within the security risk operations remit. This role will be pivotal in supporting the Microsoft Global Security Leadership team and will collaborate closely with the internal and external stakeholders globally.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in security program or program management or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • International Security experience in multiple disciplines
  • Ability to travel internationally
Additional or preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Risk, or related field
    • AND 12+ years experience in law enforcement, corporate security, security program or project management or related field
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Security program or program management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or equivalent Protection certification OR Physical Security Professional (PSP) OR equivalent Physical Security Certification.
  • Experience working with Security, Risk, and operational teams. Previous experience in creating risk intelligence reports across geographies.
  • Deeper understanding of emerging risks impacting the tech industry and knowledge about digital innovations and risk trends.
  • Proficient in report writing, leadership communication and collaborative skills with the ability to inspire knowledge and showcase growth mindset.

Security IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for providing program management support within the global security team globally with emphasis on life safety, risk reporting and delivering operational excellence. You will partner with security teams across multiple service lines and leverage Microsoft's world-class products and services to develop and deliver innovative and industry-leading risk and physical security solutions in a close, team-oriented, inclusive, and diverse environment.

  • Security Risk Management: Design, implement, and monitor controls to mitigate risks to infrastructure, business, people, and assets. Monitor and manage the effectiveness of measures taken to modify risks. Display a comprehensive understanding of risk assessment methodologies and crisis management.
  • Security Program Management: Create and maintain physical security policies, protocols, and procedures in accordance with industry’s best practices and regulatory requirements. Lead and coordinate with third-party vendors/suppliers in the execution of security procedures, protocols, and processes. Design end-to-end processes and support the implementation of security systems. Manage security system integration and delivery. Ensure cost, schedule, quality, and standards are maintained for security systems.
  • Event Security: Oversee the Microsoft Global Event Security Team (EST), which provides comprehensive event security management and strategic support for Microsoft Business Groups hosting organized events outside of normal business operations. Services include event security consulting, planning, and vendor oversight. The primary objective of the Event Security Team is to uphold a safe and secure environment for both employees and guests attending Microsoft events.

  • Special Asset Security: Oversee the physical security of sensitive assets.

  • Emergency Preparedness Management: Develop and implement protocols for responding to security incidents, emergencies, and crises. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders locally and globally in managing security-related incidents. Develop public, private, and supplier partnerships.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with relevant security and privacy laws, regulations, and standards. Keep abreast of changes in security legislation and adjust security protocols accordingly for sites globally.
  • Communication: Display interpersonal communication skills and can translate and provide clarity to internal and external stakeholders. Present and communicate effectively at an executive level.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations on security incidents, risk assessments, and program effectiveness for global security leadership and stakeholders.
