Overview

As a Senior Business Manager for the Oil, Gas, and Energy (OGE) sales unit within Americas Enterprise, you will help our commercial enterprise customers achieve their business goals with Microsoft Solutions. You will lead business management for the sales unit VP and engage in a number of strategic priorities within the team and across MCAPS leadership.

The Senior Business Manager is a critical role that looks left to right across the sales unit to ensure we are optimizing daily operations, driving the team's rhythm of business (ROB) and supporting sales unit leadership on all elements of operational excellence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing business operations, including budget planning, workforce management, and organizational health tracking.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives, including communications sequencing and enablement programs, with documented outcomes or deliverables.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership teams, including participation in strategic planning, rhythm of business execution, and stakeholder engagement activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 12+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.

Business Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the OGE business
  • Driving the OGE rhythm of business (ROB) and executing on the organization’s priorities
  • Responsible for budget and workforce planning activities and management
  • Monitoring organizational health and driving the health and culture of the organization
  • Partnering with the communications lead to drive a thoughtful sequencing of internal and external communications that promote sales unit leadership’s strategy and direction
  • Partnering with the Sales Excellence Lead to rationalize and execute on the sales unit’s enablement program
  • Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to drive rhythm of business (ROB), insight loop and stakeholder management
  • Synthesizes insights and leverages expertise to influence the leader and leadership team. Curates content within the organization and leverages relationships to influence and advise on strategic decisions, content, and/or expertise.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to the leader, participating in a variety of special projects, program and initiatives.
