The Developer Experience SDK team within the Microsoft Identity organization is dedicated to making authentication and authorization seamless and secure for developers worldwide. Our mission is to ensure that getting authentication and authorization right is straightforward, actively preventing security incidents while providing operational insights as part of the platform. We support developers, security operations, and administrators by delivering world-class authentication libraries and SDKs that empower millions of developers and support over a billion active users across Microsoft products like Office, Xbox, HoloLens, and Azure. Our solutions are used across thousands of internal Microsoft services, with several components available as open source on GitHub. We aim to share our learnings from running services across Microsoft through GitHub, Entra, Azure, and beyond. As a team, we focus on building seamlessly integrated components that run in high-scale services, prioritizing security, resilience, memory, and performance. We ensure our solutions utilize minimal resources, provide no-touch (configuration-only) APIs, and collect telemetry for key operational insights.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Demonstrated professional software engineering experience, using one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Rust
  • Demonstrated strength to quickly get up-to-speed and be productive on new technical domains and are comfortable in dealing with ambiguity.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, coding patterns, and testing practices.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain authentication and authorization components for various platforms, including .NET, C/C++, Rust, Java, Python.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as leadership teams, product managers, service owners and platform teams.
  • Make data-driven decisions (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Support service owners ensuring seamless integration.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to the overall improvement of the solution.
