As part of the Edge Services within Microsoft Entra organization, we design and operate the critical infrastructure that forms the secure front door to Entra's identity services. Our team owns foundational components - each engineered to deliver secure, scalable, reliable and observable traffic management across Microsoft's global footprint.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, along with proven experience in software engineering using C#, C++, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across local and global teams within Microsoft.
  • Practical experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting across networking, application layers, caching, load balancing, and distributed systems.
  • Experience working with SQL-like query languages.
  • Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Fluent in English.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable software components for Microsoft Entra services.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile ceremonies to foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Identify dependencies and contribute to the creation of design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms.
  • Participate in on-call rotations with your team. Triage and respond to issues and advocate for opportunities to improve service health.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance system and service availability, reliability, resiliency, efficiency, and performance.
  • Contribute to automation efforts across production and deployment pipelines.
  • Debug and resolve complex issues by identifying root causes and implementing durable solutions.
  • Maintain existing systems and services, ensuring adherence to established Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for internal customers.
  • Mentor team members and promote an inclusive, collaborative engineering environment.
