As a Senior Software Engineer - Azure Storage, you will play a key role in defining the technical direction of the most complex pieces of Azure Storage, while delivering continued improvements as well as pathbreaking features at a high quality. In addition, you will work on the latest server technologies and highly distributed systems, with a focus on reliability, scalability, performance, consistency and debuggability.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
  • OR Python
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years proficiency in C/C++/object-oriented programming.
• 2+ years of demonstrated technical communication skills.
• 2+ years of working knowledge on Cloud Scale storage systems.

• Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.
• Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
• With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.
• Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.
• Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
