Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale. Our mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is supported by more than 300 datacenters around the world that enable services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.
The Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Security and Sustainability (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Basic knowledge in hardware sourcing and supply chain.
- Demonstrated coordination and program management capabilities.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to build lasting relationships across multiple layers in the organization.
- Distinctive problem solving leadership and analytical thinking.
- Proven capabilities in operating in a growing, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and synthesizing skills of both written and verbal
- Familiar with business tools (e.g. word, excel, power point slides) and able to generate quality outputs.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Responsibilities
Cost and operations analytics
- Identify cost reduction opportunities with sourcing tools (e.g. Cost modeling) o Run analytics for regular review on cost and operations KPIs and help define targets.
- Provide cost and supply chain data for internal stakeholders, e.g., system integrators, planning team, finance o Ensure sourcing input is successfully captured in the forecast planning system.
- Support ad-hoc initiatives, e.g. tariffs / import export cost, cost inflation.
Continuous improvement of operations processes
- Purchase orders operations and budget tracking to ensure spending within budget.
Sourcing management, strategy and event management
- Perform market assessment and industry benchmarking to support sourcing strategy development.
- Contribute ideas and proposals to ensure advantaged cost and sufficient continuity of supply while meeting quality goals (e.g., sustainability, repairability, etc.).
- Contribute to the development of mitigation plans that are robust to disruptions around manufacturing, geography/geopolitics, financial health, and/or major unavoidable events (e.g., climate events, COVID-19).
- Support TWN COE events with stake holders.
Organizational initiatives
- Develop knowledge management structure and tools to drive usage and knowledge transferring.
- Host forums of training and/or guest speaker sharing to promote team’s learning.
- Establish forums of communication to share knowledge and enhance team’s awareness, e.g., bi-weekly industry news e-mail, site newsletter.
- Propose and drive innovative/ad-hoc organizational initiatives upon request.
- Facilitate LT travel and business related meetings arrangement.
