Overview

The Federal Civilian Business Unit of Microsoft Federal is looking for a Solution Architect with a passion for architecting and delivering low-code/no-code enterprise solutions leveraging Power Platform and Dynamics 365. The ideal candidate has a unique combination of hands-on technical expertise, business acumen, and experience in selling business value solutions in highly competitive environments. This includes strong capability in business applications implementation, architectural design, and strategic customer engagement.

Solution Architects in this role must have a deep passion for the customer, demonstrated through professionalism and a relentless pursuit of excellence in every customer interaction, acting as a trusted advisor at the executive level while ensuring successful delivery of AI-powered business solutions at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security) OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security) OR equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture or enterprise consulting roles, with proven expertise in implementing Power Platform and Dynamics 365 solutions.
  • 2+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios.
  • 1+ year(s) experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor (or Master’s) degree, MBA desirable
  • Strong understanding of low-code/no-code frameworks, AI integration, and cloud architectures.
  • Significant experience engaging executive-level stakeholders to shape business strategy using technology-driven solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Azure services, identity management, application lifecycle governance, and security controls.
  • Ability to operate across highly regulated, sovereign cloud environments with an understanding of federal compliance standards.
  • Executive presence with exceptional presentation, negotiation, and influence skills.
  • Experience partnering with account teams in shaping growth strategies and digital transformation roadmaps.
  • Deep understanding of federal government mission priorities and IT modernization challenges.

Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. Solution Architecture IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $122,500 - $214,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $154,500 - $231,700 per year.

Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executive stakeholders, aligning Microsoft Business Applications and AI strategies with customer priorities to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Champion AI transformation and low-code innovation by connecting complex organizational challenges to actionable, high-impact digital solutions.

Architecture Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end solution architecture across Dynamics 365, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Virtual Agents, Dataverse), and AI services (Copilot Studio, AI Builder), ensuring architectures are secure, compliant, and scalable.
  • Define architectural blueprints, governance strategies, and technical roadmaps based on Microsoft reference models, industry best practices, and customer constraints.

Customer Success & Risk Management

  • Drive adoption and consumption of Microsoft solutions by ensuring architectures enable sustained usage, operational excellence, and long-term renewals.
  • Identify enterprise-level risks across security, compliance, and performance; develop mitigation strategies and embed governance into every project phase.

Innovation & Growth

  • Translate business and technical challenges into actionable AI-powered solutions that create real business value.
  • Collaborate with internal Microsoft account teams, technical specialists, and partners to identify growth opportunities, expand solution footprint, and accelerate customer success.

Thought Leadership & IP Development

  • Generate and improve intellectual property (IP), templates, and accelerators for repeatable solutions that scale across the federal market sector.
  • Act as a visible thought leader internally and externally by participating in industry events, writing blogs, or contributing to community forums on Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and AI transformation.

Community & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor virtual and cross-functional teams; share expertise and elevate the technical community through best practices, coaching, and training initiatives.
