Overview

The Microsoft Azure Compute Program Management (PM) team drives customer experiences and Platform components development across Azure. We are focused on producing modern solutions in areas of performance, reliability and overall deterministic Compute experience driving customer satisfaction and providing a dependable environment for Mission Critical applications on Azure. We combine globe-scale platform and deep system acumen to drive innovation that allows us to define and operate our datacenters beyond what was possible in the past with traditional techniques.

We focus on building platform experiences that power Azure datacenters to run Compute Services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Cloud Services, etc. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager II to be part of a team that will manage division-wide initiatives to drive development of platform components needed for Azure Networking. To succeed in this role, you should be passionate about the Compute and Networking space, have a good understanding of networking layers or OSI model, have a good understanding of operating system design concepts, terrific in cross-group collaboration, and have passion for customers. You should be a creative leader with superior analytical abilities, have a track record of delivery in a services environment with a can-do attitude.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) experience applying modern software engineering principles within a technical environment.
  • 1+ year(s) experience collaborating across teams and presenting to executive stakeholders.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities
