Then, Microsoft has an opening in our Commercial Operations Team as a Business Program Manager. The Commercial Operations Team is dedicated to proactively partnering with sales teams to translate complex customer requirements into executable commercial agreements. The team hold close relationships with sales teams and Microsoft partners to ensure compliant and timely contract execution for Microsoft commercial agreements. In addition, they provide thought leadership on complex commercial constructs and modern contracting platforms.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND proven experience in programme management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

The Role

The Business Program Manager is accountable for the timely and compliant execution of Microsoft agreements for the Microsoft UK Public Sector business.

Key Responsibilities

Performance & Process Optimisation

  • Support and lead the integration of AI led processes for operations and those the role supports.
  • Define, collect, and evaluate success criteria and performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement recommendations to optimise operational processes.
  • Design and maintain reporting and dashboards to drive continuous improvement.
  • Embed AI into business processes to accelerate efficiency gains.

Operational Resilience & Risk Management

  • Ensure ongoing operational resilience through business process documentation and onboarding.
  • Identify programme risks and impacts, and develop mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder & Partner Engagement

  • Partner with BPO vendors to ensure contractor capability and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the partner ecosystem to deliver successful commercial outcomes.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and stakeholder engagement to represent Microsoft solution capabilities.

Business Rhythm & Communication

  • Lead the business rhythm during plan execution, ensuring effective communication and operational cadence.
  • Promote the sharing of best practices and strategies across internal teams.

Strategic Insight & Programme Development

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of business goals, strategies, and priorities (e.g., AI, security, efficiency, quality).
  • Scope and propose new programmes and process improvements to address complex challenges.
  • Provide feedback and influence the development of local programmes as required.

Sales Enablement & Deal Support

  • Work closely with UK Finance, Sales, Deal Desk, CELA, and specialist sales teams throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Accountability for complex deal pricing workbooks.
  • Timely creation of customer pricing.
  • Forward planning for renewals business.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on modern contracting platforms, enabling sales teams through training and support.
