Microsoft Casual Games team is seeking a Senior Technical Producer / Program Manager to lead a significant new, R&D (Research & Development) heavy, project from development through a successful launch and into live operations. This is a crucial role for a production and process expert who excels at navigating the complexities of a large organization to ship quality, polished products and platforms. The Senior Technical Producer / Program Manager thrives in a dynamic environment, finding satisfaction in steering high visibility projects.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in production roles in gaming or entertainment industry, or other multi-disciplinary leadership
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in development and shipping of at least one product release.
  • 2+ years experience managing relationships with stakeholders, clients, and/or customers.
  • 4+ years in game or consumer product production, with experience shipping software in a senior role.
  • Experience in navigating compliance, privacy, and security frameworks within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Experience Project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.) and methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating and directing cross‑disciplinary teams guiding productive conflict and making decisions with incomplete information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver digital products to consumers through ambiguity and R&D‑heavy initiatives while driving to ship on schedule.
  • Experience releasing games on multiple platforms such as PC, Mobile and Web.
  • Experience with free-to-play and live service games.
  • Experience using data and iteration to drive decision making and build alignment.
  • Passion for and understanding of the casual games market.
  • Experience mentoring other producers.
  • Experience delivering AI in products.
  • Flexible problem-solver who is comfortable with ambiguity but drives for clarity.
  • Comfort with complex technology stacks and services such as AI/ML‑assisted workflows.

Game Producers IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Own project delivery from mid-stage development through launch and into live service and ultimately into a platform for future work, managing the roadmap, schedule, and key milestones.
  • Coordinate and direct a cross-functional dedicated team of developers, designers, artists, and marketers, fostering a culture of collaboration, decisiveness and accountability.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Stakeholders in the MCG (Microsoft Casual Games) organization to create, clarity, build consensus and drive decisions
  • Bring rigorous process to R&D and Iteration on the title to rapidly prove-out key features.
  • Partner with engineering to shape the services and shared capabilities building toward a reusable platform for multiple titles.
  • Navigate and unblock multilayered compliance and launch readiness (privacy, security, accessibility, content ratings, store policies, localization, legal) as the single‑threaded owner for a smooth path to market.
  • Communicate with clarity and urgency, providing regular proactive updates on project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Manage the creation of a platform and set of services to support future games.
  • Optimize production pipelines to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and ensure predictable, quality releases.
