Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience architecting and scaling solutions using cloud technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience proven track record of ensuring system security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • 1+ year of experience hands-on experience designing and deploying AI/LLM-based solutions in production environments.
  • 1+ year of experience implementing DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with optimizing, prompting and finetuning AI-based solutions for performance, accuracy, and scalability is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage generative AI to create innovative, user-centric product features.
  • Experience in Agentic development will be preferred.
  • Experience coaching and growing engineers within the team.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Azure cloud based AI-driven applications using platforms and tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry and OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, and large language models.
  • Implement and test full-stack solutions, including both client-side and server-side components.
  • Maintain high-quality code through robust error handling mechanisms and comprehensive unit and automated integration testing.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive alerting, monitoring, and reporting systems to ensure application reliability and performance, while enabling visibility into key business KPIs and metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with partner teams to deliver seamless, end-to-end systems and user experiences.
  • Explore and prototype emerging technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to drive innovation.
