As a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Diagnostics Agents Engineering team, you will help shape the future of Microsoft’s diagnostics in Azure enabling deep insights into system health and performance across global services. You’ll collaborate with talented engineers to deliver scalable solutions that drive reliability and innovation for millions of users.


In this role, you will architect and implement diagnostics agents and analytics tools that empower Microsoft teams to solve complex technical challenges. You will play a key part in integrating AI into diagnostics workflows at cloud scale across a miryad of environments and Azure infrastructure models . Our mission is to empower engineers to investigate and resolve incidents/performance issues quickly and confidently through Diagnostics Agents like Azure Profiler, Performance Diagnostics and Fleet Diagnostics. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, Rust, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of technical expertise in design/coding/debugging/testing in Windows/Linux.
  • 3+ years experience owning end-to-end product lifecycle from design to implementation to support.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Rust, Python, C#.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing diagnostics or performance solutions for large-scale platforms across Windows and Linux.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud service and/or operating system diagnostics/performance concepts.Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and mentor other engineers
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

• Architect, design, and implement diagnostics and performance agents for large scale services for both Windows and Linux.

•Integrate AI and machine learning into diagnostic workflows to determine and collect relevant diagnostics, while maintaining a sustainable solution.
