Overview
The Senior Director of Strategy, Growth & Operations is a critical leadership role within Microsoft Advertising Marketing. This leader will drive strategic planning, operational excellence, and growth acceleration across the marketing organization. The role oversees four key teams: Marketing Operations, Growth Marketing, Business Management, and Coupon Strategy. This role is responsible for 1) Leading the annual strategic planning process focused on the highest opportunity areas. 2) Driving AI strategy and adoption across marketing. 3) Advancing our measurement practice and Monthly Business Updates (MBU). 4) Partnering closely with Finance and leading the rhythm of business (ROB). The ideal candidate is a systems thinker, highly strategic, agile, growth-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 7+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing strategy operations, or related work experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years people management experience including a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives from concept to execution.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 4+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 9+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing strategy operations, preferably in a large-scale tech or advertising environment, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience.

- Deep understanding of marketing performance measurement, AI integration, and operational excellence.
- Experience working with analytics teams and translating business and customers insights into strategies and compelling marketing propositions.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Drive annual planning, identifying and prioritizing high-impact opportunities, and define and drive AI strategy and adoption across marketing workflows, tools, and measurement.
- Align Investments with Priorities: Partner with Finance to ensure resource optimization and alignment of investment strategies with business goals.
- Growth Marketing: Oversee Growth Marketing team to drive experimentation, performance marketing, and audience expansion strategies through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration with product marketing and engineering to align growth initiatives with product innovation and customer needs in order to accelerate customer acquisition and engagement.
- Marketing Operations: Lead Marketing Operations team to build scalable systems, processes, and operational rigor, driving automation, tooling, and infrastructure to support campaign execution and performance tracking, and ensure operational excellence across planning, execution, and measurement cycles.
- Business Management: Own and evolve rhythm of business, including business reviews, planning cadences, and executive communications. Partner with Finance, HR, and cross-functional stakeholders to manage headcount, budget, and business performance.
- Coupon Strategy: Lead Coupon Strategy team to ensure alignment with strategic goals and financial targets
- Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence: Foster high-performing teams across operations, growth, business management, and coupon strategy, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusion. Influence senior stakeholders across marketing, sales, finance, and engineering to drive alignment and impact.
