We are the Azure Portal Cloud Native Experiences team, and we’re looking fora Software Engineer II to join us in creating the next generation of developer and operator experiences in Azure. Our team owns the portal experiences for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Kubernetes Fleet Manager, and AKS Automatic, empowering customers to easily build, manage, and scale Kubernetes clusters across environments and regions.


We also design and deliver skills and tools for Copilot in Azure and Github Copilot, bringing AI-powered automation, intelligent recommendations, and actionable insights directly into the customer workflow. By blending powerful cloud-native capabilities with seamless User Experience (UX), we help customers accelerate innovation, optimize workloads, and operate Kubernetes with confidence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional web development experience.
  • 2+ years of proficiency with the latest techniques building web apps and services using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Knockout, React and Redux.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of proficiency building engaging user experiences.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience contributing to a state-of-the-art product and tackling engaging, real-world challenges on a daily basis.
  • 1+ years(s) of proficiency with frameworks like Knockout.js, TypeScript and React.
  • 1+ year(s) experience with technologies like JSON, AJAX, and Git.1+ year(s) of hands-on experience with scenario and unit testing; we use Jenkins, Selenium, and Mocha/Chai at cloud-scale.
  • 1+ year(s) knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and multi-cluster/multi-scale Kubernetes management.
  • 1+ year(s) of working knowledge of GenAI and Agent communication protocols with AI/ML systems and familiarity with building or integrating solutions using large language models (LLMs).

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
