As a Software Quality Engineering Intern, under supervision, you will help lead debugging of software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. You will help manage team processes to drive software quality engineering according to test plans, with a customer-obsession resulting in greater customer experiences. You will develop, modify and execute software test plans, automated scripts and programs for testing. You will help automate processes and procedures to decrease repetitions in testing, tooling and procedures and analyze and write test plans, standards and procedures. You will conduct data analyses and visualize data for insights on software product quality. You will maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software and analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in a full time bachelor's, masters, MBA, or PhD program in area relevant for the role during the academic term immediately before their internship.

The base pay range for this internship is USD $5610.00 - $11010.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $7270.00 - $12030.00 per month.

Responsibilities

  • Work with guidance to identify the scope of testing to create a quality plan for one or more feature areas.
  • In partnership with stakeholders, create commitments for test plans in a feature to estimate the scope of work and agree on requirements under close guidance from others.
  • Work with development partners to ensure that products meet policies and requirements and help to manage partnerships with feature area team members to identify and leverage where telemetry, tooling, and data collection points should be integrated in early development and throughout the development phase, shifting left in the process.
  • Review test plans created by other team members, and schedules review meetings to troubleshoot, identify and apply improvements to be a voice for quality, and/or defend the testing plan with leads by clarifying requirements and ensuring accuracy of commitments.
  • Report test performance feedback or issues across one or more feature areas to internal and external vendors that will be directly responsible individuals (DRIs) for test plan execution.
  • Help monitor, summarize, and prepare findings from testing teams to be shared with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., development teams) across feature areas.
  • Contribute to efforts to build custom dashboards and visualizations through the use of systems (e.g., Power BI) for assuring testing coverage of the product and effective case management.
