On the Microsoft Communications team, you’ll be part of a dynamic group of storytellers who bring to life the innovations, people, and impact that define Microsoft. We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and tech-savvy communications professional to join the Commercial + Consumer Experiences Communications Team, focused on one of the most critical and fast-evolving areas of our business: Security, Privacy, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This role is scoped under the “Securing the Workforce” theme and centers on telling powerful stories about how Microsoft helps organizations protect data, help ensure privacy, and build trust in AI. You’ll lead communications for Microsoft Purview, as well as broader initiatives around Security for AI, data privacy in the enterprise, and collaboration with Microsoft 365 teammates focused on innovation and productivity storytelling.
You’ll be at the forefront of shaping narratives that show how Microsoft empowers enterprises to:
- Govern and manage data access across cloud and hybrid environments
- Protect sensitive information and comply with evolving regulations
- Strengthen data controls that support responsible AI development and deployment
- Navigate the complexities of securing today’s flexible, AI-powered workforce

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience leading communications strategy and execution.
Additional/Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Field Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading communications strategy and execution.
- Expertise in cyber risk and cybersecurity preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and stakeholders in a fast-changing environment.
- A consistent yet evolving understanding of evolving communications and media trends.
- Ability to deal with change and ambiguity while maintaining professionalism and a positive outlook.
Communications IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Lead storytelling for Microsoft Purview and related security and privacy products, with a focus on customer impact, innovation, and thought leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and business partners—especially across the Azure and Security teams—to align messaging and amplify momentum.
- Develop and execute communications strategies that resonate with media, analysts, industry influencers, and commercial and government customers.
- Spotlight customer use cases that illustrate how Microsoft is helping organizations scale data protection, meet compliance needs, and responsibly integrate AI.
- Elevate Microsoft’s voice in the global conversation around security, privacy, and AI by incorporating insights from diverse internal and external experts.
