Microsoft Entra ID is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (previously known as Azure Active Directory) under the Microsoft Security organization which is at the center of Microsoft’s cloud strategy. It consists of critical authentication, authorization, and directory services that are used by the millions of Azure, Office 365, XBOX and Windows users worldwide. The backend directory store is at the heart of Microsoft Entra ID architecture. It hosts millions of tenants and billions of identities. It serves billions of requests per day in the stacks powering core authentication and programmability. Our team is evolving the backend directory store to address the needs for the next decade. Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience working in large scale, distributed systems
• 4+ years of experience in designing, building, and shipping high quality production software or services in a cloud environment.
• 2+ years of technical leadership proficiency with a proven track record of steering projects involving cross-functional teams and decision-making.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ year(s) foundation in data structures and algorithms with testing, debugging, and analytical skills.
• 4+ years of experience working in large scale, distributed systems

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
