Overview
The CoreAI team is dedicated to empowering every developer to shape the future with AI. This involves creating tools, platforms, and workflows that redefine software development and enable dynamic, AI driven applications.
We are an exploration team within CoreAI focused on generating innovative ideas in the Artifical Intelligence (AI) space and then applying them to developer processes and tools. We conceptualize, explore, and build new disruptive capabilities by pulling together product and research efforts across the company, the open-source community, and academia to build great products. We work closely with contributors and leaders from relevant product and research teams to educate our point of view on issues and opportunities, collaboratively define concrete exploration plans, and bring the best ideas—whether developed internally or externally—to life as transformative products.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Developed software on a cloud using at least two of C#, Python, SQL, C/C++, Java, Javascript, Typescript.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated cross-discipline and cross-group collaboration skills
- Proven track record of partnering with stakeholders
- Technical expertise with distributed systems, CNCF (K8s, Prometheus, Flux, Helm), relational and NoSQL data stores, CI/CD, and Containers & Microservices
- Experience building applications that use Artificial Intelligence (AI) models
- Experience training distilled models.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.

Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced software engineer that is passionate about Artificial Intelligence (AI), new technology, writing code, understanding & leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) foundation and distilled models, and moving ideas from wonder to results. This person be a great team player, and know the developer job deeply. We need a curious and excited technologist that’s able to help shape musings into solid product ideas. This person should be comfortable working on a team that has market changing ideas and wants to help transform those ideas into reality.
