​​Within Azure Data, the business intelligence team builds and maintains Power BI which is the undisputed leader in BI tool in the industry today and serves as the bridge between data professionals & Office users. ​​Power BI Reporting & Exploration team's mission is to empower everyone to better understand their data and effectively communicate insights. We are looking for a front-end Software Engineer II to work on the modern user interfaces that are performant, reliable, secure, responsive, and accessible. You will apply the latest open-source web technologies, such as React, Angular, TypeScript, and D3.

Required Qualifications:

• ​​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python​
• 1+ year experience with SPA / web application development, using a library like React / Angular / VueJS or similar

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+years of industry software engineering experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a modern web framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Systematic problem solving with clean, modular design thinking
• Track record of excellence in software engineering, including design, coding, code reviews, testing, and devops
• Experience with building, deploying, and operating applications and services on cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience with using data visualization technologies (e.g., D3, Highcharts)
• Track record of excellence

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
