Overview

Operating microservices at scale in Azure’s foundational layers presents unique and complex challenges. The Asgard Platform Services team exists to empower service owners in the Azure Core organization by delivering a GitOps-driven platform that encapsulates essential capabilities—such as service lifecycle management, discovery, call routing, reverse proxying, monitoring, configuration management, and secrets management—into robust, reusable services. As a platform team, we tackle the hardest problems of scale, reliability, and automation, driving quality and consistency across services at the core of Azure. We are a small, high-impact group that values innovation, collaboration, and ownership. If you are passionate about building transformative solutions and enjoy wearing many hats to deliver results, we want you on our team.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Asgard Platform Services team, you will work on critical services within Azure’s foundational layer. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, develop Artifical Intelligence (AI)-assisted and automated solutions for service management and support, and modernize management tools for microservice platforms. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, drive innovation in developer productivity, and shape the future of platform engineering at scale. Flexible work options are available, including partial or full work-from-home arrangements.
