One Fleet Platform is at the core of our Cloud platform and continues to experience phenomenal growth. The Customer Signals team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build highly available, planet-scale distributed systems that offer and operate millions of cloud resources to run mission-critical workloads in the Microsoft Cloud.

The Customer Signals team is part of One Fleet Platform. Your role as a Senior Software Engineer is to focus on improving the quality of Azure by analyzing and processing various signals from Virtual Machine (VM) Watch, Impact Resource Provider (RP), and more. We are expanding our customer-obsessed engineering team to build a state-of-the-art VM signal monitoring and user-reported signal processing pipeline. We leverage big data and machine learning (ML) to understand customer usage patterns and to predict and prevent regressions. This work enables and drives quality improvements. It is a highly visible and impactful team that plays a central role in Azure’s continued growth.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of data engineering experience, including working with big data technologies and data pipelines.
  • 2+ years of technique with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for data analysis.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience building and operating a service based on any cloud platforms including, but not limited to, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • 2+ years of proficiency with Spark, Hadoop, and Databricks.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable frameworks and services to allow us and other developers to build workloads with flexibility and accuracy.
  • Work closely with other engineering teams and learn how to understand and correlate various signals from Azure, VM Watch, Impact RP and more.
  • Based on the correlations, detect/predict regression and issues in Azure to keep the user satisfaction high.
  • Develop unit tests and integration tests to keep up the quality of Framework.
  • Learn and adopt new technologies along with Azure and other open-source tech stacks in Azure offering.
  • Have fun day-to-day with what you do, as our work increases customer satisfaction.
