Support for Mission Critical is a team within Microsoft that provides solution-specific expertise designed to drive peak health and optimum performance of a customer’s most important solutions. We are looking for a Senior Cloud Solution Architect, Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) & Artificial Intelligence (AI). As a key technical resource for the customer, you will be primarily focused on delivering proactive services such as education workshops, delivering assessments, and providing tailored guidance. Troubleshooting skills are essential as this role will include working with Microsoft Support to expedite incident resolution.


This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of working experience with developing, debugging, performance tuning and supporting any of the following:
    • Azure Cognitive Services or Azure OpenAI.
    • Proficient knowledge of Azure Web Apps/App Services/Function Apps.
    • Hands on experience of scripting languages like PowerShell or Azure CLI/bash.
    • High level languages and frameworks such as C#, .NET Core/.NET Framework, Java, Python.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, configuring, and supporting solutions built around complex architectures. Understanding of IDEs & debug skills and industry proprietary tools, to analyze problems and develop solutions to meet customer needs; this may involve writing bespoke custom or sample scripts to automate.
  • Technical Delivery and Customer facing presentation skills including a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, architecture, and/or consulting
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years experience working in a customer-facing role and leading technical projects (e.g., internal and/or external).
  • Enterprise-scale experience in systems architecture, systems deployment, network operations, or IT consulting and cloud-based solutions in large enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of client/server, networking, and Internet technologies fundamentals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop strategic, persistent customer relationships to gain the trust and respect of customers.
  • Advanced customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged customer situations.
  • Ability to take on internal initiatives to create services opportunities while working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple demands, addressing shifting priorities, and maintaining a focus on key priorities.
  • Exhibit proficient interpersonal and communication skills while working with diverse audiences including highly technical IT professionals, developers, architects, and executive account management.

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver proactive & reactive support including onsite presence as needed.
  • Work within a larger virtual account team to strengthen customer relationships and work on cloud-first strategies for immediate and long-term service delivery plans.
  • Identify and manage goals and opportunities across Azure ecosystem to improve customer solution health, performance, and availability.
  • Drive and participate in proactive delivery management, identify solution performance issues, analyze problems, and provide solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Work with support teams, account teams, product engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure streamlined customer experiences.
  • Apply lessons learned for continuous process and delivery improvement for customers.
  • Engage in meetings with customers and account teams to articulate service offerings.
  • Share and gain knowledge through communities.
  • Contribute to on-call rotations to ensure a high quality of service for the critical incidents created by Support for Mission Critical customers.
