Join our dynamic Event Production & Studios Team (within Commercial Cloud & AI). The team is responsible for delivering impactful events and media projects which bring our Microsoft story to life, inspire brand love, foster customer engagement and drive sales. Our diverse event portfolio includes Microsoft Ignite, Microsoft Build, World Economic Forum, Microsoft AI Tour, Consumer Electronic Show (CES), Leadership Summit and more. These first- and third-party events range from invite-only summits to large-scale productions, covering various audience compositions, event formats, modalities, and complexities.

We are seeking a Senior Event Marketing Lead to lead the planning and execution of high-impact, complex events, combining experiential marketing, business strategy, and event execution. In this role, you will apply business acumen and a customer-focused approach to balance the needs of customers, partners, and Microsoft, creating both digital and in-person event experiences that inspire and engage. In this role, you will have a strategic and tactical mindset, be an impactful leader, and an excellent collaborator, capable of clear, compelling communication at all levels and thriving in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Job Location: The primary location for this position is Redmond, WA. Additionally, there are three other locations where this role may be based. Candidates who do not reside in one of these four areas will be relocated to Redmond.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years business to business, business to consumer, digital, or experiential/event marketing experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience leading and executing various corporate events, including large-scale conferences, regional tour stops, hybrid events, and third-party events.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in corporate event marketing, with experience in both digital and in-person events.
  • 3+ years experience effectively conveying information to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • 3+ years experience working successfully in large, complex matrixed organizations, effectively coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Liberal Arts, Performing Arts, or related field AND 6+ years business to business, business to consumer, enterprise technology, digital, or experiential/event marketing experience in the technology industry
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years marketing experience in a large multinational organization or creative/media agency.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies and/or solutions.
  • Experience managing projects.

Events IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Own the end-to-end strategy and execution of events, including flagship experiences and internal meetings, while aligning with executive sponsors and key stakeholders on audience targets and success metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead coordination across marketing, sales, creative, logistics, and vendor teams to ensure alignment, delivery, and shared accountability for outcomes.
  • Creative & Experiential Design: Partner with Creative Directors and Design Teams to develop immersive experiences and narratives that reflect brand goals and resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Audience-Centric Engagement: Tailor event experiences for technical decision-makers, chief officers (CxOs), partners, and developers, ensuring relevance and impact across segments.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive planning rhythms, milestone tracking, and Rhythm of Business (ROB) cadences across event portfolios, including internal communications and executive briefings.
  • Event Planning & Execution: Manage end-to-end event logistics—timelines, budgets, venues, and postmortems—while facilitating weekly stakeholder syncs, workstream sessions, and executive reviews.
  • Vendor & Budget Oversight: Oversee external vendors and manage event budgets with timely reviews and balanced decision-making to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Content & Demand Integration: Collaborate with creative and content teams to align event messaging with demand generation, registration, and field support strategies.
  • Documentation & Alignment: Develop event briefs that clearly define objectives, value propositions, and target audiences, ensuring cross-company alignment and clarity.
  • Measurement & Best Practices: Define KPIs (key performance indicators) and event scorecards, share best practices, and standardize procedures to drive continuous improvement across the organization.
