Overview
The Xbox Graphics Team focuses on end-to-end state of the art graphics, from concept through hardware design and core software such as drivers and low-level tools. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in graphics APIs, drivers, and hardware.
The Xbox Graphics team is part of the broader CoseOS team. In Core OS, we are responsible for the Operating Systems that power Azure, Microsoft's Linux OS, the platforms for Windows Client, Xbox, and our Windows Server ecosystem – through all of these, we support every one of our cloud businesses and billions of customers around the world. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to write C and C++ code with an eye on specific performance metrics.
- Deep understanding 3D rendering APIs such as DirectX or Vulkan.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of GPU and NPU hardware
- Windows or Linux experience
- Understanding or experience in the game development process
- Understanding or experience in the hardware design, bring up, and ship process
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
