Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.

The Data Analytics UX team is looking for a Content Designer whose work reflects a passion for helping people get the most from their data. This person is energized by tackling complicated problems and curious about exploring new product interaction paradigms. The ideal candidate brings a strong ability to create clear, cohesive experiences across complex systems, with a thoughtful approach to language that supports user understanding and delight. They have a track record of delivering impactful, user-centered content across products and services.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 2+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design, copywriting, technical writing, writing (e.g. for marketing, advertising, e-commerce), brand design, or brand marketing
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR Bachelor's Degree in in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 7+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR equivalent experience.
Content Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Shapes end-to-end user experiences by structuring information architecture, crafting clear UI copy, and designing intuitive flows that align with customer needs and business goals.
- Communicates with clarity and influence, tailoring content and ideas for diverse audiences—stakeholders, teammates, and users—across all phases of the design process.
- Drives strategy and content planning across multiple products, translating business priorities and customer insights into scalable, cohesive content solutions.
- Champions content systems by creating and evolving design patterns, voice guidelines, and terminology frameworks that support consistency across the organization.
- Collaborates across disciplines (Design, Engineering, PM, Marketing) to co-create solutions, advocate for user needs, and contribute to product vision and backlog prioritization.
- Leads with data and insight, synthesizing research findings and feedback to inform content decisions, improve product quality, and mentor others in content design best practices.
- Contributes to a culture of innovation, proposing forward-looking content strategies and prototyping impactful, accessible, and inclusive experiences at scale.
