The Marketing Finance team is looking for a Finance Manager to support our Security Marketing organization. This Finance Manager role will act as trusted advisor to the Security Marketing leadership by driving strategic resource allocation and ensuring program & people execution per finance plan, while also contributing to transformational initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.

The Commercial Marketing Finance team is part of the Marketing Finance organization, and partners closely with marketing stakeholders focused on our Commercial offerings (AI Business Solutions, Commercial Cloud and Microsoft Security). This team provides finance partnership, analysis & business insights, strategic investment prioritization, thought leadership, and resource trade-off decision support to the Commercial marketing leadership at Microsoft.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ year(s) experience in a matrix-based organization

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in (or supporting) a marketing organization
  • Crisp communication skills (both verbal and written), demonstrating ability and interest in storytelling with data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Technology including Excel and Power BI

Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Engage closely with business leaders in Security Marketing org to analyze marketing investments, drive insights, and influence investment prioritization. Collaborate across other Commerical Solution Area (CSA) marketing & finance teams to drive synergies, promote best practices, share business insights, streamline rhythms, etc.
  • Adopt system thinking to develop financial frameworks that drive action and scale broadly, simplify financial processes and land operational efficiency initiatives, and leverage AI capabilities to speed up execution.
  • Drive data-informed decision making and systematic solutions, communicate effectively and collaborate well across the marketing and finance organization across forums.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and support rhythm of the business and planning cycles. Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and recurring reporting deliverables.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analytical support to business partners to strengthen forecast accuracy, drive accountability, and help build financial discipline and operating rhythms across the team.
  • Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates, and promotes best practices and new developments. Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. Advances key compliance initiatives.
