The Secure Production Access (SPA) organization is looking for a Service Engineer to deliver high quality, secure services and products. The ideal candidate should have proven service engineering experience, ability to translate business problems into solutions while maintaining obsession and curiosity for securing our software/services, increase resilience, and improve customer experience. SPA organization owns and operates entire stack from custom application development, through identity and security products/tooling, as well as the underlying infrastructure. We also own the Secure Admin Workstation product, partnering closely with other product teams across Microsoft to continuously improve the experience while maintaining our critical security posture. Our team has won the coveted CSO50 award twice, for High-Risk Environments as well as Secure Admin Workstations, and continues to be an area of investment as we align with Microsoft’s new Security-first Initiative.

This position needs a highly proficient, senior service engineer with Infrasructure, operations background who is able to collaborate with domain experts, architects and senior technical & program management teams throughout the program or service life cycle.In this role, you will be a team player with a keen eye for detail, building, deploying, running Infrastructure services and problem-solving skills. If you also have experience in building scalable AD infrastructure with compute, storage & network underpinnings, Agile frameworks and popular coding languages (e.g.ASP.Net, C#, SQL programming, any scripting languages), we’d like to meet you.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience deploying & maintaining on-prem service engineering at scale including familiarity with Cloud based engineering services & toolsets
- 1+ years of experience building and running enterprise applications using Microsoft technology stack.
- 1+ years of experience with common scripting languages like Angular JS, PowerShell etc. and exposure to TFS/VSO and Git with the ability to write secure, optimized scripts

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
- Security, identity, domain experience
- Familiarity with Machine Learning and applied AI concepts.
- 5+ years software development experience in full product cycle: design, development, release, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming, .NET framework, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, C#, and SQL Server Programming along with experience in cloud services (Azure/ AWS)
Service Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Be responsible for owning multiple services, architecting them to scale, and have robust unit tests to deliver high quality products.
- Solve problems at their source, stepping back to understanding the broader context, and implementing fixes to ensure that it never occurs again.
- Stay abreast of new techniques, tools and methodologies used to address the critical developmental areas.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve infra services to support the business to drive and enable security across systems.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
- Work closely with business and engineering partners during early SDLC phases to understand the business capabilities and goals for the program.
