Overview
The Azure Core organization, specifically the Compute team is seeking a highly motivated, talented, and technical Senior Product Manager to help drive efforts in delivering quality and innovative products to our Azure customers.
To help the customer world overachieve their goals, Azure continues to build the largest global footprint of any Cloud provider with 60+ regions live and many more in the pipeline. As an increasing number of customers and partners make their switch to the cloud, it’s critical that we deliver the necessary innovation to be the cloud platform of choice, while continuing to lower our operating costs. As part of this team, you will work directly with the customers, understand their needs and competitive landscape, and continue to deliver solutions ensuring that our customers' expectations are met and exceeded in terms of performance, quality, and scale. You will partner with Microsoft engineering teams to build and support developing solutions for Azure Compute.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years' experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience working with customers, with the ability to deeply understand customer needs and competitive landscape, to achieve optimal outcomes for the customer.
- 4+ years of experience working on projects within the agile development methodology with a track record of working closely with development teams.
- 4+ years of experience delivering presentations and written communications that influence decision-making, including translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Other Qualifications:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management
- OR software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ year(s) of experience applying software engineering knowledge to influence architecture decisions across large-scale systems.
- 4+ year(s) experience delivering insights using data analytics tools such as Power BI or SQL in support of product or feature launches.
- 4+ year(s) of experience leading or contributing to cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination across virtual teams, demonstrating strong collaboration and execution.
Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Define roadmaps for scenarios / features / capabilities that you will own.
- Develop credible execution plans.
- Apply data driven insight where possible to improve efficiency.
- Design features by converting complex requirements, metrics, and policy into technical feature specifications and designs.
- Ability to work independently in highly ambiguous environments, with engineering, operations and relevant business groups across Microsoft.
- Take a structural approach to solving complex problems. Communicate with senior decision makers in a clear and compelling way.
- Stellar cross group collaboration, able to drive decisive action in partnership with others in a large & diverse organization and deliver results that depend on broader Microsoft org.
- Define targets for key business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and track and report progress on them. Define and implement Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics for your scenarios, features, and capabilities.
