Overview
Azure is the growth engine for Microsoft for the next 5–10+ years and is the backbone of Microsoft’s Cloud First, Intelligent Cloud vision. The Azure Core team is at the heart of this momentum, building and managing the foundational platform that powers compute, storage, and networking services. We’re excited to offer you the opportunity to help shape the future of cloud computing—come join us and learn more!
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Host Storage team, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering the Storage Virtualization platform that powers Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Containers. You will work on the full storage stack on Azure Host, including input/output (IO) handling, data caching, Quality of Service, encryption, and offloading IO processing into silicon. Our mission is to build the next-generation storage solution capable of scaling to millions of IOPS per virtual machine at sub-millisecond latency.
You will operate independently, leading focused feature crews and mentoring engineers, demonstrating leadership and technical depth. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems at massive scale, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cloud infrastructure.
At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. We come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
