Overview

Are you passionate about helping Education organisations unlock the full potential of their cybersecurity and artificial intelligence capabilities? As a Security Solution Area Specialist, you’ll lead strategic engagements with K–12 customers to identify their security needs and align them with Microsoft’s integrated security, compliance, identity, and AI solutions. You’ll guide customers through their digital transformation journey—demonstrating how Microsoft’s security platform, infused with AI and automation, can protect their digital estate, streamline operations, and empower their workforce. Your role will be central to helping customers adopt a Zero Trust mindset, enhance threat protection, and build resilience across their environments.

You’ll be part of a high-performing team focused on Microsoft’s most strategic Education customers, driving the day-to-day execution of our security priorities. You’ll collaborate across internal teams and partners to deliver impactful Copilot-based security experiences, generate pipeline, and close deals that deliver measurable outcomes. With a deep understanding of the Education sector’s unique challenges, you’ll help customers safeguard their digital ecosystems while unlocking new ways of working through AI. This role blends strategic engagement, technical expertise, and collaborative execution—empowering you to help customers advance their security posture and realise the full value of Microsoft’s security and AI capabilities.

Qualifications

Minimum required Qualifications (RQs)

  • extensive technology-related sales or account management experience
    OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND technology-related sales or account management experience
    OR
  • Equivalent experience
  • SC-900: Microsoft Security, Compliance., and Identity Fundamentals Certification or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

  • extensive technology-related sales or account management experience
    OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field AND extensive technology-related sales or account management experience
    OR
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field AND technology-related sales or account management experience
  • solution sales or consulting services sales experience
  • SC-100: Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Certification or equivalent

Responsibilities

Sales Excellence

  • Lead the discovery and qualification of new Cyber Security and AI platform opportunities by building long-term relationships and by understanding customer priorities, budgets, and procurement processes.
  • Develop compelling business cases aligned to measurable outcomes
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline and provide regular updates on progress.

Scaling and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with account and technical teams to execute strategic plans for customer engagement, and coordinate internal and partner resources to deliver proof-of-concepts and minimum viable solutions.
  • Align with partners to ensure the right expertise is engaged in strategic customer conversations and share opportunities with prioritized partners and ensure consistent review of partner referrals.

Industry Awareness

  • Facilitate customer workshops with partners to explore business needs and spark interest in transformative technologies.
  • Deliver solution demonstrations and solution accelerators to business and technical leaders to secure customer commitment to reinforce business impact.
  • Use available tools and programs to educate customers and uncover new opportunities.

Sales Execution

  • Focus on customer outcomes by increasing customer engagement through strengthening relationships with senior decision-makers to support digital transformation.
  • Accelerate adoption in larger accounts by driving year-over-year growth and expand workloads in mid-sized accounts with emphasis on migration and modernization.
  • Act on digital engagement signals and maintain a high-quality pipeline.

Learning

  • Stay current with industry trends, solution capabilities, and customer needs and use skilling programs to support customer learning and adoption.
