Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer in IC3, you will be responsible for building frameworks and systems to monitor and maintain performance targets across the client media platform. You will interface with partner teams across the organization to drive performance initiatives that ensure customers maintain an exceptional experience. This opportunity will allow you to make broad positive impact across IC3 calling and media stack, establish best practices for benchmarking and performance optimization and work with individuals across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- o OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience building design documents for large scale systems.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of industry programming experience in C/C++ or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience with performance benchmarking frameworks.
- Understanding of image/signal processing and video compression technologies including state of art compression standards such as H.264 (Advanced Video Coding), H.265 (High Efficiency Video Coding), AV1 (AOMedia Video 1) and real-time multimedia communication.
- Design and development experience in real-time video applications and related areas.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine requirements for a scenario.
- Drives identification of dependencies and the development of architecture and design documents
- Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and/or improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness of a system.
- Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive creation of comprehensive project plans, including granular work-items and release processes.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor our products and systems for degradation, downtime, or interruptions. Effectively communicates with stakeholders about status and initiates actions to mitigate ongoing issues.
- Proactively seeks to expand their knowledge, adopts appropriate new technical solutions and patterns in order to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products at scale.
