As a Senior Social Media Manager, you’ll help lead the evolution of our brand’s voice across platforms—shaping content strategy, creative campaigns, and community engagement. You’ll partner closely with the Social Media Director to align roadmaps, define content priorities, and ensure cohesion across our editorial, go-to-market, and audience strategies.

This role offers the opportunity to elevate Microsoft’s learning brand across social platforms through thoughtful storytelling and content leadership. You’ll lead campaign planning, brief agencies, and build compelling social narratives that span from real-time cultural moments to long-range skilling initiatives.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND/OR 2+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND/OR 1+ year(s) experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, quota management, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing social media strategies for B2B or B2C for large companies.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND 6+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND 4+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Fundamentals, Coaching (e.g., International Coaching Federation), Project and/or Program Management Professional, archival, or a similar certificate.
  • Demonstrates commitment to career development and continuous or consistent learning through formal and informal efforts (e.g., change management, design thinking, management training, online courses).
  • Hands-on experience with social media platforms and tools including Sprinklr, Facebook/Meta Business Manager, Instagram Creator Studio, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and YouTube Studio.
  • Proven success managing social content calendars, campaign development, and reporting.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with editorial, product, creative, and paid media teams.
Integrated Learning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead always-on and campaign-based social content strategy across LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Partner with the Editorial Content Lead to co-develop a cross-functional content calendar aligned to business priorities, learning moments, product launches, and industry tentpoles.
  • Guide creative development and brief internal/external creators on story-first content tailored to platform.
  • Drive employee advocacy strategy—helping internal become powerful brand voices.
  • Collaborate with the influencer/creator lead to amplify skilling narratives through partnerships.
  • Translate product, audience, and editorial insights into actionable social storytelling strategies.
  • Monitor trends and social listening signals to surface real-time opportunities.
  • Own performance tracking and reporting for organic social initiatives; surface insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
