Overview

The Microsoft Commercial Cloud and AI Marketing team is responsible for defining, shaping, and driving opportunities for some of Microsoft’s fastest-growing areas of business. The portfolio includes Azure Infrastructure, Data & AI, Digital Applications, Industry solutions, Integrated Marketing and Experiences - which together enable digital and AI transformation for organizations of all sizes across the globe. This team leads the growth efforts across the business at the intersection of product, marketing, and technology—where strategic vision meets real-world impact.

We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to help own and manage the end-to-end rhythm of the business (ROB) workstreams for the Commercial Cloud & AI Marketing organization. This role will report to the Vice President of the team and will have tangible impact on a growing organization, getting things done across large and diverse global teams and developing practices and reporting that streamline the business and drive results. You will partner with other business managers and the leadership team to help us effectively and efficiently operate a complex and diverse organization. You will be a vital, trusted member of this tight-knit team and will participate in challenging, fast-paced execution to contribute big-picture thinking and strategic execution.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 4+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with business management in a highly matrixed organization of 3,000 employees or more.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 3+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related role
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience working successfully cross functionally.
  • Experience with Excel and MS Office.
  • Experience with budgeting.

Business Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Vice President (VP) in monitoring the organizational health and partnering on projects to give visibility to our Leadership Team and above.

  • Owns business reviews, working with the other Business Managers to complete status of projects in development for executive review
  • Partners with the leadership team to develop and execute planning processes in managing the team's rhythm of business (ROB) that are in alignment with the goals of the organization
  • Contributes to special, cross-functional, strategic projects as needed to manage business needs and drive measurable results to deliver business impact for the leadership team or the Executive Office
  • Uses understanding to ensure projects are completed on time, alignment gained for strategic initiatives across functions of ownership, and best practices are researched and proposed to leadership team
  • Collaborates with cross-company/team counterparts to manage team participation, agenda management, and content development as needed for key business events, next fiscal year planning, running business reviews, and other strategic business planning activities
  • Understands the end-to-end business, manages priorities, and provides actionable business insights to enable effective decision-making while driving continuous improvement in business process and tools to enable the rapid growth and scale
