There are few places in Microsoft that have as direct an impact on as many customers as the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) team. As a Group Engineering Manager, you will provide strong team and engineering leadership, raise the technical bar, maintain a data and results driven culture, and nurture a team culture of high collaboration and trust. Other Engineering and Data Science Managers will report directly to you. Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
8+ years leading engineering teams to deliver high scale production services, building a positive engineering culture, and growing your people.
8+ years engineering experience owning high level system architecture design, engineering fundamentals (security, privacy, live-site support, performance, accessibility, etc.), and interactive user experiences at scale.
Experience managing full stack, across backend, frontend, DevOps pipelines, and data science / ML / BI.

Azure networking and Azure Front Door
AAD identity and access management
SDL and DevSecOps
AI/Machine Learning, Data Warehousing, BI
Interest in learning the vulnerability disclosure, bug bounty ecosystem, and security detection technologies.
Experience working through significant ambiguity to define and execute technical strategic plans.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.

Responsibilities
Hire, retain, and lead a cross-functional team across backend, frontend, data science, and infrastructure DevOps. Technologies primarily include C#, .NET Core, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, AI/Machine Learning, PowerBI.
Cultivate a diverse and inclusive, collaborative, positive team culture where everyone has impact, feels engaged and motivated, and can grow on their own personal journey.
Define, communicate, and drive technical strategy and implementation around engineering fundamentals (live-site, compliance, security, etc.), platform architecture, and roadmaps. Security of our systems and services is key. Investing in the fundamentals, such as threat modeling, and using validation mechanisms, like red team results, is required.
Collaborate deeply with PMs, security engineers, and stakeholders to define feature strategy, requirements, and measurable success criteria. Thinking end-to-end and delivering customer delight, not just technical solutions, is required for this role.
