We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Microsoft Intune Engineering Team. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Intune team, you will be at the forefront of developing solutions for device management, security, and modern workplace experiences. Microsoft Intune is an industry leading cloud-based device configuration and security management platform offered by Microsoft. It empowers organizations to efficiently manage and secure tens and hundreds of millions of devices, including Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux, all from a single, centralized platform. Intune provides tools for configuring device settings, deploying applications, enforcing security policies, and ensuring compliance, all while enabling remote work and enhancing productivity.
We are a group of supportive team players, working on critical and strategic projects in Intune. The projects require engineers who can deliver robust designs and code across backend microservices. In addition, engineers will be working in a fast-paced agile environment and need to be able to debug and optimize work across numerous services and teams. Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in distributed systems and/or big data technologies
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
- Lead technical design and architecture discussions for Data Platform Services
- Drive technical roadmap and vision for Data Platform Services, aligning with Intune's overall strategy
- Collaborate with product management to define and prioritize project backlogs
Software Development:
- Design, develop, and deploy distributed systems software components in Data Platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance
- Write high-quality, maintainable code, and review contributions from engineers
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing:
- Mentor engineers, providing guidance and oversight on complex projects
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring knowledge sharing and best practices
Innovation and R&D:
- Explore emerging technologies and trends, assessing their impact on our distributed systems and services
- Drive proof-of-concept projects, demonstrating innovative solutions and technical expertise
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations
- Communicate technical vision and roadmap to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
