Overview

We’re looking for a well-rounded writer who loves search engine optimization (SEO) and understands the incredible impact it can have. Join Microsoft’s Marketing Experiences & Engines team as a Writer with a focus on SEO and help us attract new audiences with your concepts and words. You’ll craft standout content that attracts audiences and search engines alike. This role sits within our Copy Studio, a team of writers and editors who bring business scenarios to life through compelling storytelling and real-world context.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) copywriting experience in advertising, or business to business (B2B) marketing AND a certification, degree, or training in English, Writing, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year experience writing SEO-driven content.
  • Experience writing blogs, web copy, non-branded SEO articles and other marketing materials such as e-mails and social media posts.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years copywriting experience in advertising, or B2B marketing AND a certification, degree, or training in English, Writing, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with AI writing tools and content automation frameworks
  • The ability to provide a portfolio of relevant work for review

Writing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

  • Develop and execute content strategies that align with business goals and target audience.
  • Create and publish high-quality, engaging, and relevant content that addresses the needs of the target audience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SEO managers and product marketers.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in SEO, content marketing, and digital marketing.
  • Explore and apply AI in content development workflows.
  • Write and edit website copy, blog posts, social media content, and other marketing materials.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, error-free, and aligned with brand voice and messaging.
