Overview

The Human Resources (HR) Excellence and Office of the Chief People Officer (OCPO) teams are seeking a Business Administrator who can contribute to our efforts, support our strategic initiatives, and help us achieve our vision of operational excellence and continuous improvement. The mission of Microsoft's HR Excellence team is to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across the HR function, ensuring that we deliver top notch HR services and support to all employees. By leveraging data-driven insights and innovative HR practices, we aim to enhance employee experiences, streamline processes, and foster a culture of high performance and accountability. The Office of the Chief People Officer (OCPO) is dedicated to maximizing efficiency and driving strategic HR initiatives that align with Microsoft's overall mission. Our team focuses on creating an agile and responsive HR infrastructure, fostering connections with leadership, and implementing a comprehensive engagement strategy. We are committed to supporting the People Team's goals and ensuring that our HR practices are aligned with the company's strategic objectives. This Business Administrator will play an integral role across both teams supporting the VP of HR Excellence and VP, Chief Operating Officer in their roles leading these teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years Administrative, Business Support, or customer service experience in an environment with an emphasis on scheduling meetings/events, travel management, and administration work for executive/upper level management.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources [HR], Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Sociology)
  • 2+ years experience serving as mentor to others
  • 3+ years experience reviewing and managing administrative budgets (e.g., for events, morale, travel, training)
    • OR equivalent experience

Business Support ATR-D - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $28.46 - $48.80 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $39.76 - $55.67 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic calendar and time planning support for managers, and will align calendar based on manager’s preferences and style. You’ll also build and leverage a cross-organizational network to enable team work.
  • Participate in the Business Support community and begin to provide leadership, such as by seeking mentors. You’ll also facilitate team experience and onboarding activities.
  • Own the coordination, logistics, and direction of events, delegating as necessary. You’ll also be able to balance multiple projects end to end with varying deadlines.
  • Oversee inventory management, participate in discretionary budget tracking and reporting, and own expense management. You’ll also understand and help implement rhythm of business (ROB).
  • Manage up-to-date space-management processes and team spaces, maintaining detailed data to recommend changes and identify future requirements. You’ll also manage travel arrangements and create detailed itineraries for daily activities.
