The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Protect team manages Entra tenants for all Microsoft Cloud. We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer that will join our mission of protecting Microsoft Cloud by building and operating security frameworks that will enforce security policies across thousands of services. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of security at Microsoft and leveraging your insights to protect Microsoft services and customers.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.

• Experience with cyber security practices.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• OR equivalent experience.

• 2+ years experience working in cyber security.
• Experience with Identity and Access Management experience, especially authentication/authorization systems similar to Entra.
• Experience with Graph database technologies. (for usage with Security Attack Graph)

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineering with security mindset in distributed systems, data platforms, and identity and access management who can design and deliver large scale frameworks to enforce security policies and build tools to evict attackers.

Some of the core responsibilities include:
• Build and run security systems and data platforms that provide visibility into service security boundaries.
• Extend security attack graph tooling to drive analysis and eviction of attackers
• Collaborate across multiple services, organizations in Microsoft Security, Azure, and M365 to ensure services adhere to known security boundaries with deployed policies and automation.
• Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce standards for code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure high code quality and system reliability.
