Overview

The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft, and the mission is to build and sell Microsoft Cloud applications, services and devices with partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more.

Join our team as a Partner Solution Architect foucsing on MCAPS Key Priorities (AI, Fabric, Security, Copilot and Migration) and play a pivotal role in guiding partners towards a profitable and successful digital transformation journey with Microsoft. By leveraging your strategic mindset, technical expertise, and persuasive communication skills, you will drive our partners' success and unlock new possibilities in the ever-evolving world of technology. As the Partner Solution Architec, you will guide your partners' technology strategies, encouraging the creation of innovative business solutions to meet customer needs. Your responsibilities as the Partner Solution Architect will include influencing the partner’s cloud strategy, leading cloud transformation, fostering innovation, building relationships, and providing technical guidance as a trusted advisor. By doing so, you will empower our partners to deliver ROI (return on investment) to their customers while driving business growth and innovation.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 7+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of related experience in technology IP (intellectual property) solutions or services development, with a deep understanding of digital transformation business drivers, cloud platforms, and emerging cloud trends like generative AI (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE) and SaaS (Software as a Service) services. Strong background and in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, with a focus on Microsoft's cloud offerings (Azure, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365).
  • Experience in cloud architecture, migration, and optimization.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 12+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience working in a customer-facing role (e.g., internal and/or external).
  • 6+ years experience leading technical projects.
  • Technical Certification in Cloud (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications).

Cloud Solution Architecture IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Strategy Alignment – You will serve as the technical owner of our partners' business solutions, collaborating closely with stakeholders to align their technology roadmap with Microsoft's cloud offerings. This includes understanding partners' business objectives, providing strategic guidance, and helping them leverage the full potential of the Microsoft cloud to achieve their goals.
  • Cloud Transformation Leadership – You will lead our partners through the complex process of cloud transformation, adopting a Technical Sales mindset to support conventional thinking. You will champion the adoption of innovative cloud technologies, accelerate time to market, and identify new business opportunities that drive our partners' success.
  • Innovation and Tech Intensity – You will embrace a culture of innovation and inspire our partners to adopt a tech-intensive mindset. Stay at the forefront of emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices. By providing thought leadership and encouraging experimentation, you will help our partners differentiate themselves in the market and drive transformative change.
  • Relationship Building - You will cultivate strong relationships with partners, acting as a trusted advisor to CTOs (Chief Technology Officers), executives, and technical teams. Foster collaboration, trust, and open communication channels to ensure seamless alignment between our partners and Microsoft. By driving joint success and achieving shared business objectives, you will establish long-lasting partnerships.
  • Leadership and Innovation – You will demonstrate leadership capabilities, driving business growth, fostering innovation, and navigating complex organizational landscapes. Passion for exploring emerging cloud technologies and driving transformative change. Ability to drive decisions collaboratively, resolve conflicts, and ensure follow-through.
  • Trusted Advisor – With your proven track record, you will provide strategic technology guidance and advisory services to partners (preferred) or customers. Ability to align technology solutions with business goals, develop technology roadmaps, and deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Strategy Formulation and Communication Skills – With your proven ability in strategy formulation, with a strong understanding of business strategies, you will lead the adoption of technologies by developing strategic, long-term visions for partners. Skilled in resolving technical blockers and driving envisioning of new and groundbreaking capabilities in technology roadmaps. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
