Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Principal Software Engineer, with deep and practical security knowledge and entrepreneurial mindset, to join the CTO office of Microsoft Security. This team has the responsibility for ensuring Microsoft delivers the market-leading security technologies in all markets we choose to serve, while leveraging and advancing emerging technologies such as AI and Quantum.

This is a broad cross-team and cross-disciplined role, working on technologies and solutions with high visibility and high impact. As part of this role, you will have a massive impact in innovating Microsoft Security’s portfolio of products while shaping the next generation of the cybersecurity landscape.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent education.
  • 10+ years of proven software development experience, working with any of this languages C/C++/C#/Python.
  • Knowledge of networking and security protocols.
  • A “Can-Do” attitude and entrepreneurial mindset, being able to explore and initiate new concepts and ideas, and drive them from inception to execution.
  • Ability to break down product/feature requirements into technical dependencies and deliverables.
  • Ability of navigating in an ambiguous environment and moving quickly between different topics and domains.
  • Proficiency in English and ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with international team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the cybersecurity and GenAI.
  • Experience in managing engineering and development teams.
  • Experience working with AWS/GCP/Azure.
  • Experience in product execution from inception to production.
  • Experience in designing, building, and operating large-scale resilient distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Be a “founding engineer” in disruptive security solutions, starting products and incubations from scratch!
  • This is a broad cross-team and cross-discipline role, working on products and initiatives with high visibility and high impact.
  • Conduct experiments and proof of concepts with the latest technologies and security concepts.
  • Lead end-to-end design, implementations and delivery of services and features, following industry best practices and security standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product and research teams from all across Microsoft.
  • Autonomously translate business needs and priorities into development tasks, and lead the definition of requirements, KPIs, priorities and planning of engineering deliverables.
