Overview

Microsoft 365 (M365) which provides the world’s leading modern workspace cloud services (i.e., Office 365, Teams, Sharepoint, EMS, etc), empower communication, collaboration, productivity, and is entrusted by hundreds of millions of users worldwide, is expanding presence in Sovereign markets.

Cyber-sovereignty is an emerging product area that reflects customer, and in particular government, demand for isolated and controlled cloud environments that continue to yield the manageability and feature benefits of the public cloud. Sovereign cloud standardization is a top priority to increase agility in delivering sovereign clouds optimal service operations and efficacy to unlock new business opportunities of M365.

This Product Manager role will help define, document, and drive to build a powerful and effective service quality and health sovereign cloud validation framework covering cloud buildout, ongoing service updates, and operation. The position requires the ability to work independently, develop thought leadership and gain buy-in across stakeholders. A successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment filled with ambiguity and competing demands.

You will gather underlying requirements, formulate objectives, and develop specs. You will be part of a cross-functional team leveraging Azure and M365 to build the next generation cloud, extending investments in the world-wide public cloud.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience of product management and/or program management in software development
  • Technical breadth and/or domain expertise in cloud architecture and infrastructure, such as M365 Substrate service delivery platform, MS Azure cloud, AIOps, etc.
  • Familiar with cloud types, test infra, methodology, and product validation.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and collaboration skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, problem solving, self-driving, and closing the loop.
  • Ability to work in a cross-region, cross-team, multitasking dynamic environment, to lead by influence and earn trust from all levels.
  • A strong team-player with passion for mentoring and coaching.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master degree of engineering major
  • Broad understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure products
  • Strong project management skill to ensure the smooth execution and deliver the goods against the OKR(s).
  • Sovereign cloud experience and/or knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Formulate objectives and develop specs for sovereign cloud standardization/validation framework feature areas/features with accountability.
  • Drive development of sovereign cloud standard build-out, deployment Orchestration, service excellence (workloads, health & ops, reliability)
  • Learn, capture, analyze, triage/prioritize customer scenarios, product requirements, feedbacks, and contribute to define the OKR(s), feature enhancements, user stories, functional specification through semester planning to ensure both customer and engineering success with better product, from internal and/or external partners.
  • Explore and identify areas of investment to bring the sovereign cloud standardization forward.
  • Being particularly strong in issue tracking (breadth and depth) and follow through. Good communication (not only language skill for clear communication, but keeping stakeholders fully informed and in sync)
  • Fully align with global product strategy, priority, process, and program management excellence against the one-team model between China and head quarter
  • Establish strong collaboration partnership and trust with local and global engineering stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate the leadership influence on engineering customer obsession, strategic can-do growth mindset, one-team culture, technology excellence, delivering the goods to meet the OKR(s).
  • Having a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. being proactive (not reactive). Lead (not follow)
