Overview

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Senior Business Program Manager, Data Center Operations you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments

    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or computer science or 5+ years equivalent experience providing business support in a 24x7x365 production environment.
    • OR 3+ years industry experience and college course work with a focus in change management processes
  • 6+ years of relevant finance, planning or analysis work experiences with a strong analytical foundation.
  • 5+ years experience in the development of tools and apps utilizing Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Azure DevOps, Sharepoint, Dynamics.
  • General understanding of the data center market, data center operations roles and requirements
  • Strong program management skills, including end to end planning of cross organizational projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills
  • Excellent cross-team collaboration, with proven ability to work across organizations and reporting boundaries to get things done.
  • Passion for attracting, growing, and developing data center operations talent.
  • Self-starter driving best-in-class decision support in ambiguous environments

Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,800 - $195,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $135,200 - $222,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Business Program Execution, Evaluation, and Improvement

  • Seeks up to date information from key internal stakeholders, including new developments in interviewing techniques, adjustments to technical questions, and future improvements with the technology or processes. Incorporates any changes into course content in partnership with Global Talent Acquisition (GTA).
  • Collects and evaluates success criteria and performance metrics.
  • Complies with Interviewing SLAs (Service Level Agreements) assigned by Global Talent Acquisition (GTA).
  • Utilizes existing interviewing and hiring best practices and consistently evaluates for inefficiencies.
  • Structures skilling offers through strong technical knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Interview candidates to determine their qualifications for a position by reviewing job requirements, necessary assessments, or other job specific requirements to in collaboration with Global Talent Acquisition (GTA)
  • Follow debriefing methods to assess candidate requirements consistently and effectively to make decisions on hiring the most qualified candidates.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews for employees leaving Microsoft. Partner with HR (Human Resources) to gather themes, insights, and lessons learned to be shared with leaders and managers.

Training and Skilling Delivery

  • Delivers one of several single to multi-day skilling offerings or other learning experiences either in person or virtually to target audience with no supervision.
  • Focus on training courses for specific Data Center positions.
  • Engage with learners to ensure content and concepts are understood and are aligned with learner goals (e.g., internal, and external learner partnership).
  • Monitors the progress of learners on major topic areas and assesses knowledge gaps to appropriately reinforce important learnings.

Learning Collaboration and Engagement

  • Shares relevant content to internal Learning teams and stakeholders to drive direction of a training area.
  • Provides up-to-date knowledge about the content area to content development peers and other cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with curriculum managers to understand the content and ensure the full curriculum is being delivered by trainers.
