Microsoft is seeking an innovative Technologist in Residence to drive the integration of AI and advanced technologies within the startup ecosystem. This role is pivotal in fostering collaboration between Microsoft and emerging tech ventures through TitletownTech, a venture capital firm born out of partnership with the Green Bay Packers. As the Technical Advisor for Microsoft’s TechSpark initiative, you will also advise and engage broader regional investments in Wisconsin, including the new AI Co-Innovation Lab in Milwaukee. Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Must be willing to live or relocate to the Green Bay, Wisconsin area.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Responsibilities

As the Technologist in Residence, you will provide technical consulting to startups and corporate members within the TitletownTech portfolio. Your role will focus on performing technical analysis of potential investments, advising startups, and leveraging Microsoft’s network, expertise, and resources to ensure their success. Key responsibilities include:

Technical Analysis and Consulting:

  • Conduct technical evaluations of potential investments to ensure their viability and scalability.
  • Advise portfolio startups on developing their business models and technical capabilities to successfully compete and scale in the marketplace.
  • Guide startups from formation through various stages of growth, providing strategic technical insights.

Business and Technical Guidance:

  • Assess the technical design and capabilities of early-stage startups as part of the TitletownTech investment team’s evaluation process.
  • Guide business and technical decision-makers on new ways to create business value through architecture design sessions, workshops, and developing proofs of concept.

Leveraging Microsoft Resources:

  • Connect startups with Microsoft resources and expertise across a wide range of technical domains, maintaining a fresh perspective on cutting edge capabilities.
  • Identify partnership opportunities and work with appropriate teams across Microsoft to foster collaborations that drive business value.

TechSpark Program Leadership:

  • Serve as the Technical Program Manager for the Microsoft TechSpark initiative, serving as a technical advisor to the regional managers.
  • Coordinate with various teams across Microsoft to integrate resources and expertise into TechSpark initiatives.
  • Develop and implement technical motions that drive digital transformation and innovation within the TechSpark regions.
  • This position would also help mentor, coach and onboard another technologist to be based on the east coast, as well as help provide tech evangelism and engagement in TechSpark regions and with Fellows across the U.S.

External Affairs:

  • Represent Microsoft at community events, conferences, and technical events to promote the company’s vision and initiatives.
  • Deliver presentations, participate in panel discussions, and engage with the tech community to share insights and foster relationships.
  • Act as a spokesperson for Microsoft’s technology and innovation efforts, highlighting the impact of AI and advanced technologies on the startup ecosystem.
  • Partner with the internal government affairs team to work across the political spectrum, advancing Microsoft’s messaging and fostering supportive relationships with policymakers.
  • Actively drive storytelling and communications on Microsoft TechSpark and TitletownTech impacts and wins.

Continuous Learning and Trend Sharing:

  • Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, staying up to date with market trends and competitive insights, especially in relevant industry sectors.
  • Share current trends and insights with the broader team to inform strategic decisions and foster a culture of continuous learning.
