CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver capacity for all cloud services predictably through intelligent systems driven by continuous learning and a world class organization. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

The Security, Risk & Compliance team is looking for a motivated and experienced leader to join our team. We are hiring a Sustainability Program Manager, Supplier Engagement. The Sustainability Program Manager, Supplier Engagement will be part of the risk management team responsible for identifying, assessing, actioning, monitoring, and driving control testing effectiveness, specifically focused on supply chain security risks. This role will influence policies and support the operational cadence of third-party supplier compliance and risk assessments. Therefore, this leader must have experience leading cross-functionally without direct authority. This role will engage with business partners and suppliers to evaluate risks, provide subject matter expertise, and measure the maturity and inherent risks of our supply chain hardware security. You will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the creation of an advanced Supply Chain attack and threat modeling program that will improve supply chain threat awareness. Additionally, this role must collaborate closely with other Microsoft and Azure Cloud security teams to mitigate risks and enhance the overall security posture of our suppliers and hardware.

CSCP also has responsibility for managing and executing the cloud sustainability strategy, ensuring that the cloud supply chain is continually optimized to support Microsoft’s environmental goals for a sustainable future. As Microsoft scales to become the global leader in cloud deployments and services, we are embedding sustainability across the product lifecycle by deeply understanding the sustainability impact of our supply chain and cloud hardware underpinning this growth. With a science and data centric approach we want to lead the industry and deploy supplier sustainability initiatives to enable supply chain transformations. This Sustainability Program Manager, Supplier Engagement role within CS4 PMO’s Sustainability team will play a critical role in this transformation, evolving our Supplier Engagement program. This role will navigate the suppliers contributing to our cloud IT infrastructure and align on commitments and sustainability methodologies and drive plans of record partnering with and ensuring these suppliers can meet our climate goals. The role will work closely with environmental leads from each of our suppliers and at Microsoft, supply chain leads, data scientists and engineers within a world class supply chain organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years’ experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR equivalent experience.

Technical Solution Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Work across internal teams to migrate regularly requested supplier-provided data to scalable tools to support Microsoft’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory (GHG), Supplier Engagement program, and Carbon-Free Electricity guidance
  • Lead data assurance efforts to accurately allocate and verify upstream scope 3 emissions reductions across complex global supply chains, in accordance with industry standards such as GHG Protocol and Microsoft public decarbonization goals
  • Provide integration support for hybrid GHG accounting methodology leveraged in the Supplier Engagement program, including merging of multiple data sets to continuously improve data resolution informing tailored supplier carbon footprints, reduction impact of interventions, and avoided emissions
  • Manage data flows of external supplier engagement program and internal stakeholders. This includes driving data governance, automation and quality assurance plans to inform stakeholders, enable supplier disclosures, and build supplier capabilities
  • Ensure supplier data and security is maintained
  • Drive initiatives working with data scientists, engineering, sourcing, CELA, and other groups
  • Drive quality improvements on internal and supplier-provided data working with various groups to reconcile data sets
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Microsoft supply chain teams. Align supplier emissions reductions, both accomplished and planned, with deliveries to datacenters. Provide analysis of by-generation carbon footprint reductions, identify hotspots for opportunities, and create roadmaps for next-generation products
  • Drive initiative to integrate Supplier Engagement program deeply into key stakeholders’ tools and processes, focusing on product design for sustainability and supply chain planning.
