Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver capacity for all cloud services predictably through intelligent systems driven by continuous learning and a world class organization. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

We are hiring a Senior Technical Solutions Manager, Silicon Supply Chain, to join the team that manages the supply chain for Microsoft’s own designed silicon, Maia and Cobalt. The Silicon Supply Chain Team is managing the manufacturing and delivery of these silicon chips into Microsoft’s datacenters. In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your semiconductor & supply chain experience as well as your program management experience bringing innovative chipsets to life. As the Technical Solution Manager, you will lead and partner with cross functional teams (business, supply chain and engineering) towards product launch and throughout the product life cycle. In addition to demonstrating operational excellence and program management expertise, you will have the opportunity to create new processes and technical solutions as you build new capabilities for Microsoft own designed silicon.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience direct experience in semiconductor supply chains.
  • 3+ years of experience with change management in a manufacturing environment, with focus on new product introduction.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in NPI (New Product Introduction), Engineering, Supply Chain management, Operations or Project Management
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in NPI (New Product Introduction), Engineering, Supply Chain management, Operations or Project Management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with change management in a manufacturing environment
  • Commercial relationship experience in Operations Management or Factory Management
  • Global manufacturing, semiconductor technology, and supply chain process efficiency

Technical Solution Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.

Responsibilities

As a Supply Chain Technical Solution Manager, Silicon, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Introduce new products and processes into the silicon supply chain by tracking, coordinating, and communicating end-to-end project deliverables, dependencies, and risks.
  • Leverage partnership and collaboration skills to manage on time delivery and availability of products throughout the product life cycle.
  • A critical driver of change management execution across the silicon supply chain, including demand attainment, capacity planning, and process efficiency.
  • Proactively mitigate risk throughout operations by leveraging teams involved with all aspects of planning supply, both technical and operational.
  • Influence supply for critical silicon components, working closely with semiconductor suppliers and internal stakeholders by demonstrating expertise in the technology and business operations.
  • Represent production in rhythm of the business activities including participation in quarterly business reviews and weekly operations syncs.
