As a Senior Software Engineer - Azure Storage, you will build, improve and support highly scalable, performant services that deliver highly reliable, secure and available access to storage for our customers. You will face challenges of monitoring, analyzing, and designing for ever-growing data needs of our customers and for ensuring data privacy, protection and compliance. Qualifications
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms, or any distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience with any NoSQL database, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional/Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and data structures.
- Experience with agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features and enhancements for Azure Storage services to enable new hardware designs using best practices and industry standards.
- Design and implement new features for the storage performance measurement and analysis platform.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across multiple software components that block us from enabling new Hardware technologies.
- Analyze large scale performance measurement data to find bottlenecks in the software or hardware.
- Optimize and improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and security of the software.
- Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and customers to gather requirements, provide feedback, and deliver solutions.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and direction.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and quality criteria.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and frameworks to improve the software.
- Document and communicate the design and architecture of the software.
